A trick of the beard

Batteries Feel Included: 309: “Step Eleven: Pause for ten seconds to allow the incrediblness of the situation to sink in. There will be no reason for her to doubt your claim, because your beard will make you appear many years older and your cuts would add weight to the idea that you’ve come from a post-apocalyptic future where a war is currently taking place.”

The Betty – Kawasaki Vulcan 750

Sunday, May 10th, 2009

I’ve been on the hunt for a motorcycle for a bit. Due to a confluence of events I was on the hunt for a bike this weekend. One popped up on Craigslist yesterday and I went to see it this morning. After a test ride and a little negotiation I am now the proud owner of a 1998 Kawasaki Vulcan 750. Her name is Betty. There are a couple of cosmetic things to take care of. The engine is in great shape and It has less than 7k miles on it.

I hadn’t been riding in the last few months so I was nerveous to get the bike home. I had nothing to worry about. I rode Betty the 25 miles on highways easily.
